Administer radiation treatment using prescription calculations, treatment records, and patient education while supporting care at Windsor Regional Hospital.
The Radiation Therapist delivers treatment according to the Radiation Oncologist, departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care. This position includes calculating basic prescriptions, checking colleagues’ calculations, documenting treatment records, and responding to patient needs. The therapist maintains records throughout each radiation therapy course and follows performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer radiation treatment according to prescribed requirements
- Calculate basic prescriptions and verify others’ calculations
- Prepare and document treatment records accurately
- Maintain records throughout radiation therapy courses
- Provide comprehensive patient education and respond to care needs
Requirements:
- Graduate from an approved School of Radiation Therapy
- Registration with the CMRITO
- Current CPR registration
- Knowledge and willingness to learn Radiation Therapy aspects
- Transparent communication and ability to function as a team member
