Lead III-V device design for Salience Labs in the UK, combining photonics modelling with silicon photonics integration for AI infrastructure.
As a Lead Photonics Design Engineer, you will develop active components through design, fabrication, characterisation, reliability, and qualification. Your work spans epitaxial structures, semiconductor lasers, optical amplifiers, and device integration. You will translate system requirements into specifications and technology roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model gain, power, optical modes, electrical, and thermal behaviour
- Own device specifications, roadmaps, mask design, and tape-outs
- Manage external epitaxy and foundry fabrication runs
- Lead wafer, chip, and integrated-PIC characterisation
- Drive iterations using performance and process data
Requirements:
- PhD with six-plus years, or Master's with eight-plus years
- Four-plus years developing III-V amplifiers or semiconductor lasers
- Deep semiconductor laser and amplifier physics knowledge
- Hands-on III-V epitaxy, fabrication, and external foundry experience
- Experience with photonic simulation, layout, testing, and automation
Apply your III-V photonics, device modelling, fabrication, and characterisation expertise to Salience Labs AI infrastructure.
