Operate refuse collection trucks while supporting concrete, asphalt, sewer, and traffic-control work with the Township of Esquimalt Public Works Department.

This auxiliary Labourer II position reports to the Public Works Supervisor. The work includes manual labour, hand-tool operation, truck loading, and traffic direction. Most working time involves operating a Refuse Collection truck while completing wide-ranging public works tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate a Refuse Collection truck for most working time
- Load trucks and set up traffic control signs
- Direct traffic and pedestrian movement around work areas
- Form, screed, and finish concrete surfaces
- Break and lay asphalt, trenches, sewer pipes, and castings

Requirements:

- Partial high school education
- Current and valid Class 5 British Columbia driver's licence
- Class 3 licence with air endorsement preferred
- Two years of related experience
- Refuse Collection experience considered an asset
