Operate heavy equipment and maintain airport infrastructure as a seasonal, full-time Airport Maintainer with Kativik Regional Government in Kuujjuaq.
Reporting to the Airport Manager, the Airport Maintainer works with KRG employees and airport users. The position maintains runways, taxiways, aprons, service roads, grounds, equipment, buildings, and navigational aids. Daily, weekly, and monthly documentation is also required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate graders, loaders, and other equipment safely
- Maintain runways, maneuvering areas, taxiways, and access roads
- Maintain airport grounds and navigational aids
- Repair equipment and airport buildings
- Prepare required administrative documentation
Requirements:
- Two years of relevant experience or heavy equipment maintenance knowledge
- Basic Microsoft environment computer skills
- Eligibility for a restricted radio operator’s certificate
- Working knowledge of at least two listed languages
- Document preparation experience and safety knowledge are assets
