Operate sample preparation equipment at ALS, using crushing, sieving, homogenizing, and splitting techniques in a scientific testing laboratory.

This General Labourer position supports ALS’s Sample Preparation and Comminution Department. You will prepare client samples, perform test work, complete screen analysis, and follow established procedures and schedules. The work requires safety awareness, basic computer skills, and careful production records.

Key Responsibilities:

- Sieve, crush, homogenize, and split client samples
- Complete test work using Bond rod and ball mills
- Perform supervised testing with laboratory equipment
- Maintain production logs, inspections, and sample database records
- Clean laboratory areas and follow safety procedures

Requirements:

- Grade 12 diploma
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Valuable communication, organization, and hand-coordination skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Forklift licence or experience preferred
