Description
Hello. It’s nice to meet you.
If you’re looking for a challenge, you’ve come to the right place. We can’t promise where you’ll go, but we do promise no two All Weather journeys are the same because no matter who you are or where you come from, we’re all building something. Every single one of us. Whether it’s a home, a career, a family or a future, we’re all searching for growth. This is our story too. For more than 45 years, we’ve built the All Weather Group into the largest privately owned and operated window, door and glass manufacturer in the country. But in some ways, we’re just getting started.
Are you ready for this?
At the All Weather Group, you’ll be challenged to think on your feet, learn on the job and make an impact in big and small ways. We won’t hold your hand but we will have your back in helping you build the skills, experience and career you deserve.
We’re looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our Health & Safety team. In this role, you’ll engage directly and visibly with frontline employees, leads, supervisors, and leadership to promote health and safety standards, with a focus on preventing injuries and incidents. You’ll support operational discipline and help ensure work is planned and executed safely and in alignment with applicable regulatory and company requirements.
What You’ll Do
- Health & Safety Compliance: Support safety programs, safe work procedures, and compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation and company requirements.
- Hazard Identification and Risk Management: Conduct workplace inspections, review hazard assessments, identify risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Incident Investigation: Coach leaders through investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning to prevent recurrence.
- Emergency Preparedness: Maintain emergency response plans, coordinate drills, and support emergency response training.
- Audits and Continuous Improvement: Maintain safety documentation, support internal and external audits, including COR requirements, and track corrective actions.
- Training and Safety Culture: Deliver safety orientations and training, facilitate monthly safety meetings, and coach employees and leaders on safe work practices.
- Joint Health and Safety Committees: Coordinate meetings, address safety concerns, and track committee recommendations and action items.
- Contractor Safety Management: Support contractor pre-qualification, verify required documentation, and monitor compliance with company safety requirements.
Are you built for this?
We hire as much for attitude as we do for experience, because who you are is just as important as what you can do. Here’s who and what we’re looking for.
- Occupational Health and Safety diploma or certificate, with at least 50% of the program completed.
- Minimum three years of full-time experience in a health and safety role.
- Manufacturing, construction, or equipment maintenance experience strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation and the Certificate of Recognition (COR) framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with frontline employees, tradespeople, and senior leaders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Intelex or similar safety reporting systems is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Valid Alberta driver’s licence and clean driver’s abstract.
- Willingness to travel out of province approximately one week per month.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
The following certifications are assets: ACSA COR Auditor, Standard First Aid, Joint Health and Safety Committees, Fall Protection, and Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP).
What’s in it for you?
