We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support a large-scale data and reporting modernization initiative within the insurance sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in modernizing Guidewire operational reporting by designing and developing scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions using Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Python, Spark SQL, and Databricks Asset Bundles (DAB).
- Modernize Guidewire operational reporting and migrate legacy data processes to cloud-based solutions.
- Convert Oracle SQL queries and stored procedures into optimized Spark SQL transformations.
- Develop reusable data pipelines and curated Gold Data Products.
- Build and maintain Microsoft Fabric solutions, including Lakehouse, OneLake Shortcuts, Semantic Models, and Power BI.
- Ensure data quality, performance, security, and governance across analytical solutions.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate reporting requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Support testing,



deployment, and continuous improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

- Robust hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Python, Spark SQL, and SQL.
- Experience with Informatica PowerCenter.
- Experience applying Large Language Models (LLMs) to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud-based data solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including Lakehouse and Semantic Models.
- Solid understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and governance.
- Experience with legacy reporting modernization and Oracle databases.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with experience working in Agile environments.

Nice to Have

- Experience with Guidewire and insurance-related reporting.
- Knowledge of the insurance or financial services industry.
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices in Databricks environments.
