Develop electrocatalysts and ion exchange membranes at UNSW in Sydney, Australia, applying material synthesis, device assembly, and electrochemical research expertise. This full-time role is fixed-term for two years.
As a Postdoctoral Fellow in the School of Chemistry, you will contribute to research for electrolyzers and fuel cells. You will synthesise materials, prototype electrochemical devices, and support scaled-up demonstrations. The work includes assessing efficiency and durability, relating metrics to product performance and life cycle cost, and developing experiments under schedule constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop novel electrocatalysts and ion exchange membranes
- Synthesise materials and prototype electrochemical devices
- Assess efficiency, durability, performance, and life cycle cost
- Prepare manuscripts and disseminate research outcomes
- Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and experimental data
Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science
- Experience with electrochemical energy conversion membranes
- Experience in material synthesis and characterisation
- Ability to conduct independent research with limited supervision
- Publications and conference presentations relative to chance
Apply your electrochemical research, device prototyping, and materials expertise to electrolyzer and fuel cell development at UNSW.
