Canada | Type: Contract ABOUT BFC TAX ACCOUNTANTS BFC Tax Accountants Inc. is a Canadian tax and accounting firm based in Barrie, Ontario. We help Canadian-controlled private corporations (CCPCs), owner-managers and their families with tax planning, accounting and advisory services. We are now expanding across Canada through Practice Units: virtual, region-based teams, each led by one Practice Lead. THE OPPORTUNITY Lead the BFC Practice Unit for your Region. You build and serve a client base under the BFC brand, using our systems, quality review and back office, and you earn a share of the fees your Unit collects. There is one Practice Lead per Region, so once a Region is yours, it's yours to grow while you meet our performance standards. This is an independent contractor engagement through your own corporation, not employment. You set your own hours and work from wherever suits you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Serve CCPC and owner-manager clients: bookkeeping oversight, T2 and T1 returns, GST/HST, payroll slips and monthly advisory retainers
• Run client consultations and win new engagements using BFC's pricing and proposals
• Build relationships with lawyers, financial planners, investment advisors and other referral partners in your Region
• Keep work status current in our systems and send a short weekly update
• Grow your Unit over time, adding Associates and support as volume increases WHAT BFC PROVIDES
• An established brand, a dedicated page for your Region on bfc.tax, and firm-wide marketing that routes enquiries from your Region to you
• A starter flow of qualified enquiries during your first 12 months
• Our full system: HoneyBook, Microsoft 365, QuickBooks Online Accountant and Countable
• Quality review, templates, SOPs and technical support on advanced planning
• Billing, collections, engagement letters and CRA authorizations handled centrally
• Firm professional liability coverage alongside your own
• A path to co-ownership of your regional practice for proven Leads HOW YOU'RE PAID You earn a share of the fees your Unit collects, paid monthly:
• 65% on clients you bring in through your own network and referrals
• 40% on clients BFC's marketing brings to you
• 70% on your existing clients who move with you (first 3 years) Illustration only, not a guarantee: a Unit at our Year 3 target of $240,000 in collected fees, with an even mix of firm-sourced and self-sourced clients, would pay your corporation about $125,000 a year before your own costs. Year 1 is a build year, so this suits professionals with an existing client base or another income source while the Unit grows. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 5+ years of hands-on experience preparing T2 corporate and T1 personal returns
• Confidence advising owner-managers on salary vs. dividends, corporate structure and year-end planning
• An entrepreneurial drive: you enjoy building relationships and bringing in clients
• Existing clients or a local professional network (a strong asset)
• You operate through your own corporation (or will incorporate) and carry professional liability insurance
• Organized and comfortable working remotely with cloud tools
• Self-starter, discipline, excellent time management skill and ability to work with less supervision
• A skilled designation such as CPA is an asset, not a requirement
• French is an asset for Regions in Quebec and other French-speaking areas REGIONS Regions are open across Canada, one Lead per Region. The Greater Barrie Area (GBA) is not available.
