Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to support a large-scale data and reporting modernization initiative within the insurance sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in modernizing Guidewire operational reporting by designing and developing scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions using Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using Azure Databricks, Python, Spark SQL, and Databricks Asset Bundles (DAB).
• Modernize Guidewire operational reporting and migrate legacy data processes to cloud-based solutions.
• Convert Oracle SQL queries and stored procedures into optimized Spark SQL transformations.
• Develop reusable data pipelines and curated Gold Data Products.
• Build and maintain Microsoft Fabric solutions, including Lakehouse, OneLake Shortcuts, Semantic Models, and Power BI.
• Ensure data quality, performance, security, and governance across analytical solutions.
• Collaborate with business and technical teams to translate reporting requirements into scalable data solutions.




• Support testing, deployment, and continuous improvement activities. Required Qualifications
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Python, Spark SQL, and SQL.
• Experience with Informatica PowerCenter.
• Experience applying Large Language Models (LLMs) to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud-based data solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including Lakehouse and Semantic Models.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data architecture, and governance.
• Experience with legacy reporting modernization and Oracle databases.
• Robust communication and problem-solving skills, with experience working in Agile environments. Nice to Have
• Experience with Guidewire and insurance-related reporting.
• Knowledge of the insurance or financial services industry.
• Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices in Databricks environments.
