Build secure backend services with PHP and Laravel at BUMP in a hybrid, permanent full-time Backend Developer role. Work across APIs, databases, and production systems.
On BUMP's Prediction Markets team, you will support a multi-tenant platform designed for Latin American markets. The work includes REST and GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL databases, queue-driven processing, and real-time services. You will also contribute to financial workflows, integrations, testing, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain backend services using PHP and Laravel
- Develop background jobs, scheduled tasks, queues, and retry processes
- Create REST and GraphQL APIs for multiple use cases
- Maintain PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, indexes, and queries
- Investigate escalated production issues during Tier 3 on-call rotation
Requirements:
- At least two years of backend development experience
- Experience with PHP, Laravel, REST APIs, and relational databases
- Experience with authentication, authorization, validation, and automated tests
- Experience with Git, Docker, and up-to-date CI/CD practices
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada and fluent English
