The Diesel Truck Mechanic will service delivery trucks in a shop-based environment, reporting to the Operations Manager. This role is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel vehicles while documenting work through paper-based work orders and service records.

Responsibilities

- Perform engine diagnostics and mechanical troubleshooting on delivery trucks.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and routine vehicle inspections.
- Repair and service braking, transmission, hydraulic, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Perform emissions testing and address related maintenance needs.
- Complete paper-based work orders and maintain accurate service records.
- Follow established safety procedures and ensure safety compliance.
- Provide shop-based maintenance and repair support without road-service assignments.

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience in diesel truck maintenance and repair.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with heavy-duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software.
- Understanding of safety procedures.
- Solid mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail.
