Full Stack Team Lead

Location: Toronto, ON

Salary: CAD $145,000–$175,000

Position: Permanent, Full-Time

The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Team Lead to join a growing technology team. This role is ideal for a senior developer who wants to remain hands-on technically while also taking responsibility for leading, mentoring, and supporting a small team of developers.

You’ll work across both front-end and back-end development, contribute directly to the design and development of applications, and lead a team of approximately 4–5 developers.

This is not a purely people-management role. We’re looking for someone who is still technically strong and enjoys coding, but who also has experience helping a team deliver successfully.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Lead and mentor a team of approximately 4–5 developers
- Remain hands-on with full-stack application development
- Build and maintain scalable applications using Node.js and server-side JavaScript
- Work across both front-end and back-end components
- Develop and support solutions within AWS
- Work with SQL and relational databases
- Help divide and prioritize development work across the team
- Provide technical guidance, code reviews, and mentorship
- Take ownership of development quality and successful delivery
- Collaborate with other technical teams and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle
- Support up-to-date engineering practices around deployment, scalability, and maintainability

What We’re Looking For





- Approximately 8+ years of software development experience
- Strong hands-on full-stack development experience
- Strong experience with Node.js
- Strong server-side JavaScript development experience
- Experience working with AWS
- Strong SQL experience
- Demonstrated strength across both front-end and back-end development
- Around 2+ years of leadership, team lead, or mentoring experience
- Experience guiding other developers, assigning/dividing work, and taking responsibility for successful delivery
- A genuine interest in continuing to code while taking on leadership responsibilities

Formal people-management experience is not required. Senior developers who have acted as technical leads, mentored other developers, or taken responsibility for a team's delivery are encouraged to apply.

Compensation

CAD $145,000–$175,000, depending on experience.
