Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Java Developer with strong hands-on expertise in modern Java development, microservices architecture, RESTful integrations, Kafka, and MongoDB. You’ll contribute throughout the development lifecycle—from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support.

Location: Mississauga. Hybrid- 3 days in office

Salary Range: $120 - 130 000/ yr

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices.
- Build RESTful APIs using enterprise design standards, JSON, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Apply service decomposition principles and define effective API contracts.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for transactional and reporting use cases.
- Design and manage MongoDB schemas, indexes, queries, and aggregation workflows.
- Develop Kafka producers and consumers, including effective partitioning approaches.
- Ensure microservices meet high standards for availability, scalability, and performance.
- Apply exception handling, logging, monitoring, and resiliency patterns.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and defect resolution.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and production issue resolution.
- Follow secure coding and compliance standards.

Qualifications

- 9–12 years of skilled experience.
- Strong hands-on development experience with Java 8, 11, or 17.
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data.
- Practical experience designing and developing microservices.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Experience with MongoDB, including document modeling, indexing, aggregation, CRUD operations, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Kafka producer and consumer development.
- Experience with REST-based integrations involving upstream and downstream systems.
- Experience working with OpenShift or AWS.
- Ability to develop and optimize SQL queries.
- Experience applying Kafka partitioning strategies.
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and production environments.
- Experience implementing resiliency, monitoring, and secure coding practices.
