SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Forklift Operator/Yard staff is critical to the success of Windsor Mill Sales. They are responsible for products & materials entering, stored & leaving the Yard and the Store. This includes responsibility for sorting, picking, replenishment, yard cleaning, transfers, and customer service. It is expected the role assists with deliveries to customers in our local market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES





- Order picking, pulling, palletizing, staging & loading
- Loading & unloading of Transport, Delivery, and customer vehicles
- Greeting and offering help to customers in the yard
- Operate Forklift in a diligent, professional & safe manner
- Shipping & Receiving | Ensuring all inventory leaving/entering Yard has appropriate paperwork
- Diligently follow Checklists, policies, processes & procedures
- Maintain a safe & positive work-environment

KEY REQUIREMENTS

- Prior Forklift Operator experience an asset but willing to train the right candidate
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated/self-directed, with an ability to work independently using sound judgment, logical reasoning skills, and intuition
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, always mindful of the customer
- Flexible, honest, acting in all situations with professionalism and integrity
- Able to deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events in a professional & timely manner
- Permanent resident of Canada with active BC Drivers License

WORKING CONDITIONS

Regularly Lifting up to and may exceed 50lbs

Positional Tasks

- Forklift Seat-Sitting, Trunk Rotation, Standing, Walking, Forward Bending, Lifting, Shoveling

Exposure to dust, dirt and adverse weather conditions – including rain, snow, wind, sun

Visual ability to use Computer screens & read small labels

Auditory ability to use telephone handset & portable radios
