The Production Planner manages all aspects of the production planning and scheduling of product for multiple production lines within the manufacturing facility. The Planner optimizes the days of supply, inventory investment, and productivity on the production lines to ensure that the right product is available for Parmalat customers.
Plan production of finished product to meet forecast and customer demand by creating production schedules for materials and resources using analysis of production capacities and packaging requirements. Analyze cost trade off in production planning to maximize plant efficiency while meeting customer expectations, sanitary requirements, preventative maintenance, and controlling inventories. Plan production for raw materials and finished goods by identifying/maintaining required ingredient quantities, and advising Production department of quantities to produce, and monitoring volume to ensure required quantity is available.
Maintain inventory of packaging and ingredient material by coordinating inventory counts entering into the system (SAP), and directing purchases.
Where applicable reconcile plant variances on an ongoing basis, complete period and year-end activities.
Post secondary education in Materials Management or related business field
Three (3) to five (5)



years experience in production inventory or similar position preferably in a food-manufacturing environment.
Strong team building skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Planning and organizational skills
Ability to understand the financial impact of sound inventory control procedures
Solid analytical ability of inventory, production and sales execution
Proficient with standard office computer technology such as Lotus Notes and Microsoft Office products as well as logistics/distribution software, and SAP
