The Laboratory Technologist I performs medical laboratory testing in a core lab environment rotating through Biochemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, and
Blood Collection/Specimen Procurement. Work includes, but is not limited to, performing automated and manual testing on various specimens; the integrity of the specimens through proper identification, handling, sorting, and storing of samples; reviewing patient reports and entering data; Graduation from a recognized (accredited) program with a diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a degree in Medical Laboratory Science is required.
Successful completion of the Medical Laboratory Technologist national examination in the applicable field(s) of practice, as recognized in Canada, is required.
A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.
