Other Opportunities with St. Therese Villa

The Pet Therapy Program is designed to provide residents with the opportunity to engage in an activity that provides social as well as sensory stimulation. Volunteers will work closely with the resident to provide them the freedom to participate in a non-threatening familiar activity that allows for expressions such as caring and nurturing.

In an atmosphere of relaxation and pampering, residents will have the prospect to socialize with nail care providers on a one to one basis, while having their fingernails manicured and polished. This will improve self-esteem, provide sensory stimulation, socialization, increased motivation and enjoyment.

Friendly Visitor Volunteers will visit with residents engaging them in conversation and activities to make their day a little more enjoyable. Additional activities may include reading, playing card or board games.
