This General Hospital Porter role supports Nuffield Health Oxford’s Facilities team on a bank contract. Responsibilities include waste management, security checks, access control, patient transfers, postal duties, and moving equipment. You will help patients feel relaxed and reassured before and after surgery. The position also supports the Head Porter and Facilities Manager by monitoring third-party facilities providers against agreed service levels.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage clinical, domestic, recycling, and special waste streams
- Complete opening, lockdown, and ad hoc security checks




- Transfer patients between hospital departments safely
- Move furniture, equipment, and medical gases to departments
- Maintain external areas, including the basement car park

Requirements:

- Positive communication skills when supporting patients
- Comfort with physical work, pushing beds, and lifting equipment
- Willingness to undergo Disclosure and Barring Service checks
- Availability for ad hoc bank work
- Ability to control basement car park access
