About This Opportunity

EastPoint is recruiting a Structural BIM Technician to join its Halifax, Nova Scotia team. In this role, you will help deliver coordinated drawings and 3D models for structural and infrastructure projects from preliminary design through construction.

Primary Accountabilities

Reporting to the BIM Manager, you will be an integral member of the BIM and drawing production team, developing and implementing technical solutions in the office and in the field. You will contribute to projects from preliminary and detailed design through tendering and construction. Your responsibilities will include:

- Produce concept and detailed design drawings and 3D models for infrastructure projects, including commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities.
- Collaborate with project team members to coordinate information and support consistent project delivery.
- Understand and apply company and client guidelines, procedures, and drawing standards throughout every project.
- Coordinate design-team activities and support the work of internal and external contributors, including Revit and CAD technicians and subconsultants.
- Advise project managers and design leads on applying BIM-team workflows and procedures effectively within each project.

Skills / Training Requirements

- Proficiency in Revit, including its use to support structural drawing and 3D-model production.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for drawing production and coordination.
- Working knowledge of structural systems and terminology, with the ability to apply that knowledge to drawings and 3D models.




- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear, accurate, and consistently presented drawings.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining established procedures and high-quality output.
- Ability to follow company and client standards and procedures consistently.
- At least two years of relevant experience in structural drafting, BIM, CAD, or a closely related field.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to progress assigned work with appropriate independence.

Note: All successful applicants must meet requirements to obtain a minimum of Reliability Status clearance through the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD) within 6 months of start date.
