The delivery care model is Team Nursing with a staffing mix of both RN's and RPN's. In this role, you will provide high quality nursing care to patients and their families, based on the philosophy and conceptual framework of Nursing Practice at Scarborough Health Network. You may be scheduled at the General or Birchmount hospital based on departmental needs.RequirementsCurrent registration with the College of Nurses of OntarioCurrent BCLSTwo years experience in Acute Medical Nursing or related clinical placement experience for nursing new graduatesNursing skills in IV therapy, Post-operative monitoring/assessmentPatient Assessment and Health Promotion/Teaching skillsWillingness to work with mixed aggregation of patientsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbalDemonstrates excellent problem-solving, decision making and critical thinking skillsDemonstrates excellent organizational, time-management and team building skillsDemonstrates initiative and the ability to function both independently and as an interprofessional team member in a fast-paced demanding environmentDemonstrates values consistent with SHN's Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety,
