Recreation programming and therapeutic recreation skills support AgeCare residents through meaningful activities in a person-centered long-term care workplace.

The Recreation Worker plans, develops, and runs recreation and leisure pursuits that promote wellbeing, purpose, creativity, community, learning, and fun. This position supports resident skills, knowledge, relationships, and personal connections through planned and spontaneous opportunities. Prior senior care experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and implement daily recreation and leisure activities
- Create engaging environments supporting resident participation
- Communicate with residents, families, volunteers, and community groups
- Document changes in residents’ activity participation and update care plans




- Evaluate recreation programming and quality improvement processes

Requirements:

- Prior experience working with seniors, preferably in long-term care
- Post-secondary recreation, leisure, or therapeutic recreation diploma or degree
- Related program enrollment with completion intended within three years
- Health care degree or diploma with recreation services experience
- Recreation and leisure service experience in a health care setting
