Apply analytical testing and quality expertise as a Lab Technician at Tolko’s Heffley Creek EWP Division in British Columbia. Support mill production quality daily.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, this Lab Technician participates in TQM 9000 quality assurance and quality control activities. The role collaborates with production teams during shifts and provides real-time QA and technical direction. Responsibilities include testing raw materials and finished engineered wood products, managing certification samples, and supporting process controls. The facility recently completed major capitalization and modernization, including a current engineered wood products facility.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide real-time QA and technical direction during operating shifts
- Perform mechanical and physical testing of materials and products
- Collect, grade, test, and ship APA certification samples




- Verify process control equipment operates properly throughout production
- Assist production training, calibration, trials, and inventory management

Requirements:

- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills
- Previous laboratory experience and manufacturing experience are assets
- Experience with quality management systems, including ISO 9000, is an asset
- Finger jointing, face lamination, Continuous Improvement, or LEAN experience is an asset
- Commitment to a safety-first culture and safe tool operation
