Reporting to the Team Leader, Protection Services, this casual Dispatcher supports Island Health across various sites. The work involves telephone, public address, radio, computer, and logistics applications. The position performs dispatching duties for multiple Operations & Support Services departments and plays an essential part in emergency codes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Island Health’s VOIP telephone switchboard
• Manage the public address system
• Use network based two way radio systems
• Perform dispatching duties for multiple departments
• Support emergency codes across Island Health

Requirements:

• Grade 12 education and one year’s recent related experience
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience considered
• Keyboarding speed of 45 words per minute
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize work and perform duties physically
