We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with product/systems development experience. The position will require the application of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and related mathematical methods to ensure structural integrity and weight optimization while maintaining safety margins. Experience with structural composites and design for manufacturability is highly valued. Your work will ultimately be showcased during UAV flight test campaigns, which you will have the opportunity to participate in. Appreciates that fundamental physics governs what is possible. Enjoys the process of developing solutions to technical challenges. Thrives when collaborating with peers to develop creative concepts. Creates production ready systems from mechanical prototypes. Research and develop new skills and apply them in the real world. Validate your designs through testing on the ground, then in flight. Identify loading conditions and perform structural analysis. Supervise and verify the work of junior engineers. Opportunity for travel (international and domestic) to trade shows, conferences, customer and vendor sites. Skilled Engineering license (P.from APEGA or other transferable engineering association. Demonstrated expertise in structural analysis using FEA for mechanical systems. Strong foundation in mathematical modeling principles underlying structural analysis and mechanical system behavior. Proficient in materials engineering, with specialization in structural composites, is highly valued. Ability to receive and maintain a security clearance with the Government of Canada.
