Headquartered in Ottawa, our local high-tech client is well-known for delivering world-class environmental solutions. To support its continued scale and market growth, they are seeking a hands-on, solutions-oriented Financial Controller to join their management team on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Controller will oversee the entire day-to-day accounting operations, manage full-cycle close procedures, and drive corporate process improvements. The ideal candidate is an agile leader well-versed in the reporting requirements of publicly traded environments, skilled at managing competing priorities and dedicated to building high-performing teams. Main responsibilities:
Own the full-cycle accounting close process, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements
Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and manage external audits and tax compliance requirements
Lead day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and payroll
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal policies, and government reporting and remittance requirements




Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting, operational efficiency, and internal controls
Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:
CPA designation in valuable standing
Minimum 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including statement preparation, payroll, internal financial reporting and financial analysis
Prior controller-level or management level experience is preferred
Experience with multi-entity financial reporting, consolidation and intercompany accounting is an asset
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with ERP systems – advanced proficiency in Excel
Must hold or be eligible to obtain Secret-level security clearance

How You Will Be Rewarded:
$120,000 - $130,000 annual salary range
