Architectural Technologist – Detailing

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 per year Location: Muskoka, Ontario Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Work Arrangement: On-site Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm Our client is an established luxury residential construction company specialising in high-end custom homes and waterfront estates.

With decades of experience, the company is recognised for its commitment to quality craftsmanship, technical excellence and attention to detail.

They are seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist – Detailing to join their team and contribute to the delivery of technically accurate, high-quality residential projects.

Key Responsibilities Prepare Issued for Construction (IFC) working drawings and Issued for Permit (IFP) drawings.

Produce detailed architectural and construction drawings.

Develop building envelope and enclosure details.

Coordinate structural steel and window systems.

Review and coordinate shop drawings.

Prepare site planning drawings.

Identify and resolve BIM coordination conflicts.

Complete timber frame detailing and review associated shop drawings.

Develop Revit models and detailed 2D AutoCAD drawings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.

Strong understanding of best practices in light wood-frame construction.

Knowledge of structural steel and timber construction is an asset.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.





Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and tight project deadlines. A robust commitment to producing highly detailed and technically accurate architectural work.

Qualifications Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related discipline. BCIN certification required, although candidates willing to obtain certification will also be considered.

Support and resources will be provided. 5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably within an architectural or engineering firm.

Understanding of building science principles and building enclosure detailing.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.

Experience with Lumion, Sketch

Up or Enscape is an asset but not essential.
