Support regulatory administration and policy research with Xcel Energy in Colorado through a hybrid fall internship during the school year. Develop project management and communication skills while contributing to utility proceedings.
This part time internship starts in Fall 2026 and may continue through the school year. You will support policy, cost recovery, and rulemaking proceedings requiring Public Utilities Commission approval. The work includes research, written and oral communications, compliance reporting, and process improvement. The internship may become a summer internship.
Key Responsibilities: Manage or support assigned regulatory cases
Research issues affecting policy and proceedings
Track case milestones accurately and on time




Report milestone progress to management
Create process maps and identify improvements
Requirements: Live in the state of Colorado
Current junior or higher-level college student
Pursue Business, English, Economics, Public Policy, or related degree
Work part-time during the school year
Commute in person under Xcel Energy's hybrid policy
Build regulatory, research, project management, and communication experience while supporting Xcel Energy's Colorado administration team.
