Build secure backend services with PHP and Laravel at BUMP in a hybrid, permanent full-time Backend Developer role. Work across APIs, databases, and production systems.
On BUMP's Prediction Markets team, you will support a multi-tenant platform designed for Latin American markets. The work includes REST and GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL databases, queue-driven processing, and real-time services. You will also contribute to financial workflows, integrations, testing, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities: Design and maintain backend services using PHP and Laravel
Develop background jobs, scheduled tasks, queues, and retry processes
Create REST and GraphQL APIs for multiple use cases
Maintain PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, indexes, and queries




Investigate escalated production issues during Tier 3 on-call rotation
Requirements: At least two years of backend development experience
Experience with PHP, Laravel, REST APIs, and relational databases
Experience with authentication, authorization, validation, and automated tests
Experience with Git, Docker, and contemporary CI/CD practices
Legal eligibility to work in Canada and fluent English
