First Student seeks a Technician in Charge to lead its Comox Valley maintenance shop. You will oversee preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, technician development, and daily operations. The work includes engines, emissions, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee complex vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and required road tests
Lead technicians through huddles, training, evaluations, and hiring support
Manage inventory, expenses, and fleet maintenance scheduling
Conduct inspections meeting safety and regulatory requirements




Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work when needed
Requirements: Five-plus years diesel or automotive maintenance experience, or technical education
Lead technician, supervisor, or manager experience preferred
Valid driver’s licence and strong computer skills
Own mechanic’s tool set
Ability to complete a background check successfully
