Job Title: Senior QA Engineer Backend Automation & Data Testing Location: Montreal, QC (Remote) OR Toronto, ON (Hybrid 3 Days Onsite) Job Type: Contract Experience: 5+ Years Language Requirement: French Mandatory Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer specializing in backend automation, data validation, API testing, and cloud data pipeline testing.

The ideal candidate will have strong Python programming skills, advanced SQL expertise, and hands-on experience building automation frameworks to test high-volume transaction processing systems.

Key Responsibilities Develop Python-based automation frameworks using Pytest and Requests.

Generate test data and simulate thousands of real-time trades to validate system performance and reliability.

Test and validate ETL/ELT data pipelines in AWS environments.

Perform data integrity, completeness, consistency, and transformation validation across MySQL, Snowflake, and Hive.

Write complex SQL queries involving joins, aggregations, and window functions.

Perform REST API testing, service integration testing, and database procedure validation.

Identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate with development teams to improve system behavior under high transaction volumes.

Investigate backend failures, data discrepancies, and production-related issues.





Support scheduled releases outside regular business hours and resolve ad hoc operational issues.

Maintain automation scripts, test documentation, and defect reports using Git

Hub, Jira, and Confluence.

Required Skills Minimum 5+ years of software QA experience in backend automation and data testing.

Strong Python programming skills, including writing automation scripts from scratch.

Hands-on experience with Pytest, Requests, and Pandas.

Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, subqueries, aggregations, and window functions.

Experience with REST API testing and automation.

Experience testing ETL/ELT pipelines and validating large datasets.

Hands-on experience with AWS services, preferably S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, and Athena.

Database testing experience with MySQL, Snowflake, and Hive.

Experience with performance testing, load testing, and high-volume transaction simulation.

French language proficiency is mandatory.

Solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of capital markets, equities, financial instruments, and trade lifecycles.

Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or Hive.

Experience with Linux and shell scripting.

Familiarity with cloud-based data processing and distributed systems.
