Job Summary We are seeking an H&S; Specialist - Utilities for a direct hire opportunity in the Toronto area, near M1R 3B3. This role is ideal for an experienced health and safety professional who enjoys field-based work, construction environments, and supporting safe operations across utility-related jobsites.
The H&S; Specialist - Utilities will play a key role in promoting compliance, preventing incidents, conducting inspections, supporting investigations, and helping teams maintain safe work practices. Key Responsibilities Promote and enforce safe work practices across utility construction jobsites throughout the City of Toronto.
Respond to workplace incidents, conduct investigations, gather statements, photograph scenes, identify root causes, and prepare reports.
Complete documented field, facility, and building inspections to identify environmental, health, and safety risks.
Audit safety practices at worker, supervisory, and management levels to support compliance and continuous improvement.
Conduct subcontractor and new worker orientation sessions.
Support PPE ordering and assist with in-house safety training under the direction of EHS leadership.
Compensation and Advantages Salary range: $65,000 to $80,000 per year.
