Lead emergency veterinary medicine onsite in a hospital as VEG’s full time Medical Director, using critical case management and team leadership.
VEG Medical Directors are exceptional emergency veterinarians and criticalists who guide hospitals toward medical excellence. This role combines clinical leadership, mentorship, patient safety, and hospital performance. You will build teams around VEG’s values while supporting care from triage through discharge.
Key Responsibilities: Establish positive culture through huddles, recognition, and appreciation
Lead meetings covering quality, concerns, performance, and well-being
Develop doctors through one-to-one meetings and personalized plans
Head patient safety initiatives and maintain clinical excellence
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Requirements: DVM, VMD, or equivalent degree
Five-plus years of traditional 24/7 emergency experience
Critical case management experience
Emergency surgery or endoscopy training preferred
Leadership training and mentorship experience preferred
Bring emergency veterinary expertise, patient safety leadership, and mentorship to VEG’s onsite hospital Medical Director role.
