This Legal Counsel role supports Clio’s commercial business, primarily Sales across SMB, Enterprise, and Public Sector. You will negotiate agreements, advise on privacy, technology, intellectual property, and partnerships, and help improve legal workflows. The position suits a commercial or technology lawyer with three to five years’ experience.
Key Responsibilities: Draft, redline, negotiate, and close sales agreements
Support SLED and municipal customer transactions
Structure referral and revenue partnership agreements
Advise on IP, licensing, trademarks, and technology law
Support privacy compliance, DPIAs, and breach response
Requirements: Called to a Canadian provincial or territorial bar
Three to five years practicing commercial or technology law
Experience with SaaS agreements, NDAs, privacy, and partnerships
Strong negotiation, communication, judgment, and organizational skills
Curiosity about AI and legal technology tools
Bring commercial contracting, privacy, SaaS, and AI legal technology experience to Clio’s growing legal function.
