This permanent, full time Senior Liability Specialist provides leadership for liability claims across commercial, personal lines, and farm insurance. The role interprets policy wordings, related legislation, and case law while supporting Liability Specialists, adjusters, brokers, management, and legal counsel. Hybrid work becomes available after probation requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities: Manage intake, investigation, negotiation, and settlement of liability claims
Guide specialists, adjusters, brokers, and management on complex claims
Verify coverage and claim validity using policy wordings and case law
Administer complex, high-value, sensitive,



and historical abuse files
Conduct claims reviews, audits, and process improvement meetings
Requirements: Two-year diploma in Business, Health Sciences, or relevant field
Five to seven years handling complex property and casualty claims
Knowledge of liability coverage, legislation, policy wordings, and adjustment practices
Knowledge of commercial general liability and tort case law
Skill analyzing legal opinions and communicating with management levels
Apply liability claims leadership, coverage interpretation, and case law expertise to complex SGI CANADA insurance matters.
