Design Faire’s data platform with Kafka and Spark expertise in a hybrid engineering role supporting analytics and machine learning.
As a Staff Engineer, you will set direction for data infrastructure serving Product Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, Analytics, Strategy, Finance, and Product. You will improve the path from CockroachDB and MySQL into Snowflake and Databricks. The work includes streaming ingestion, lakehouse architecture, and platform reliability.
Key Responsibilities: Set technical direction and own the data platform roadmap
Build CDC ingestion through Kafka into Iceberg tables on S3
Implement data contracts, quality checks, and dataset SLAs
Operate Airflow and Fivetran across shared data infrastructure




Lead pipeline migrations and mentor engineers
Requirements: Experience setting direction for large-scale data infrastructure
Deep CDC and Kafka streaming ingestion experience
Hands-on Iceberg, Spark, Databricks, and Snowflake experience
Robust SQL, Python, and infrastructure delivery using Terraform
Experience leading migrations, mentoring engineers, and participating in on-call
Own Faire’s data movement, reliability, and quality with Kafka, Spark, Iceberg, and cross-team technical leadership.
