As a Patient Care Specialist, you serve as the main patient contact within Shoppers Drug Mart’s Specialty Health Network. You will manage program services, support physician offices when applicable, and help patients access therapy. The work includes reimbursement, financial assistance, prescription coordination, self-injection training, and adherence support. Collaboration with Patient Care Specialists, program management, and case managers helps address concerns and escalations.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct welcome calls and obtain required patient consent
Explain case management, reimbursement, training, and coordination services




Explore medication funding and maintain reimbursement documentation
Coordinate therapy access, medication delivery, and adherence contacts
Report adverse events and product technical complaints promptly
Requirements: Two to three years in healthcare or pharmaceuticals preferred
Two to three years in customer service or call centres
Knowledge of public and private reimbursement plans is an asset
Solid Windows, Microsoft Office, and database skills
Must reside in Calgary and work from the Calgary office
Bring patient advocacy, reimbursement knowledge, and clear communication to Specialty Health Network’s coordinated support programs in Calgary.
