The Town of Canmore seeks a Community Development Engineer for its Engineering Department. You will review development applications, coordinate infrastructure projects, and provide technical expertise across transportation, water, sanitary, and stormwater systems. The work supports safe, sustainable infrastructure aligned with municipal standards, policies, and guiding documents.
Key Responsibilities: Review development applications against municipal standards and engineering best practices
Coordinate developers, consultants, contractors, and Town departments
Monitor project progress and address technical deviations




Present technical information during public consultation and Council meetings
Prepare reports, drawings, recommendations, and project records
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Professional Engineer designation or eligibility within twelve months
Minimum three years of professional engineering experience
Knowledge of municipal engineering standards and development processes
Solid communication and stakeholder coordination skills
Use civil infrastructure, development review, and communication expertise to support sustainable community projects for the Town of Canmore.
