Lead waste collection operations at Halton Region, applying contract oversight and staff supervision from the Halton Waste Management Site in Oakville. Hybrid work requires at least three onsite days weekly.
Reporting to the Manager, Collection Operations, you will oversee daily solid waste collection programs and services. The work combines operational monitoring, contractor compliance, customer service, and workforce leadership. You will support service improvements, investigations, and emergency responses.
Key Responsibilities: Lead daily waste collection operations and service delivery
Coordinate responses to disruptions, issues, and emergencies
Monitor contractors, performance, inspections, and service standards
Supervise staff, assign work, and provide coaching
Manage escalated complaints,



investigations, and customer concerns
Requirements: Minimum five years’ related waste management experience
College diploma or university degree in an environmental field
Experience supervising and administering operational contracts
Knowledge of health, transportation, environmental, and dangerous goods regulations
Experience with municipal by-law enforcement and customer concerns
Bring waste management, contract administration, staff supervision, and customer service expertise to Halton Region’s collection operations team.
