Registered Nurse – Temporary Part time POSITION SUMMARY As a member of an inter‐professional Health Care team, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care to medical/surgical/obstetrical and emergency patients. The RN is also required to provide supervision in the Charge Nurse role as scheduled. QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Certifications, Experience, Licensure) – Required Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario Minimum of 2 years hospital experience to include cardiac, emergency care and acute care areas Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or commitment to obtain within 2 months Completed CTAS (Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale) course; or willingness to obtain Completed OBS training Current ACLS certification Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office and Meditech applications Experience in the role of Charge Nurse Ability to provide regular attendance QUALIFICATIONS – Preferred Current Certifications: PALS, ATLS/TNCC, palliative care, ECG Interpretation, and other continued nursing education Ability to function calmly in emergency situations, good public relations skills, good rapport with community, medical staff and co-workers, self‐directed and motivated, flexible in daily work routines COMPETENCIES/BEHAVIOURAL – Teamwork and Collaboration Ability to engage constructively and promote a positive climate within and across internal and/or external groups/partners.
