Our employment partner is a Canadian grocery retailer specializing in South Asian, Middle Eastern, and international food products, including halal meat, fresh produce, groceries, and specialty items. The company serves diverse communities across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Job Overview

The Butcher Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the meat department, including staff supervision, inventory management, product ordering, merchandising, and customer service. Ensures fresh meat products are properly displayed, stocked, and rotated while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and profitability. Monitors inventory levels, prepares sales reports, trains team members, and creates a positive shopping experience for customers

Job Duties

- Trains and monitors butchers and butcher assistants.
- Handles purchases of meat products from the suppliers.
- Monitoring stock levels, ensuring accurate stock takes, implementing stock rotation, and ordering products as needed.




- Creating plans to improve sales, reduce waste, and maximize profitability.
- Rotates product within date and properly displays it.
- Verifies ad prices, hangs current sale signs, and removes out-of-date sale signs.
- Unloads trucks and verifies deliveries.
- Performs routine price changes on lunch meat and cheese products.
- Sets up displays.
- Complies with sanitation and safety guidelines.
- Preparing reports on sales, inventory, and other relevant data.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Ability to lift and/or move up to 23 kg or 50 lbs.
- Arabic language proficiency preferred
- Ability to stand for eight hours.
- Needs to possess steel-toed safety boots and work in a safe manner in accordance with company policies.

Working Conditions:

- Able to work in cold food areas
- Able to work flexible shifts, including weekends.

Managers perform their duties primarily at the cases and in the meat cooler. They are exposed to various temperature changes and work environments. Work involves frequently interacting with customers, associates, store managers, truck drivers, and vendors.
