Overview
We are an established family-owned group of Companies in the construction business. We are looking for an experienced financial professional to join our team in the position of Financial Controller where you can make a meaningful impact.

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will lead the accounting team, driving strategic financial initiatives, ensuring compliance, and providing insights to support sustainable growth. This is a leadership role where you will shape the finance function, strengthen controls, and guide budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and mentor accounting and administrative staff
- Ensure the monthly billing cycle is maintained and bills issued on a timely basis
- Support payroll preparation and review
- Direct the project accounting system to ensure timely and accurate reporting on projects
- Perform month-end financial close functions and preparation of financial statements, including analysis and insights for the CFO and ownership
- Monitor accounts receivable follow-up process to ensure timely collections and escalation of any overdue accounts
- Direct budgeting, forecasting,



and cash flow planning including providing monthly variance analysis to budget, forecast and year-over-year analytics
- Ensure timely and accurate tax filings and regulatory compliance
- Liaise with external accountants and coordinate the year-end reveiw
- Enhance internal controls, policies, and processes
- Present financial insights to CFO and ownership for strategic decision-making

Qualifications & Experience:

- CPA designation (required) with a Business/Commerce degree
- 5+ years of accounting leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working in closely held or family-owned Company’s an asset
- High energy, proactive, and results-driven

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
