About us

WoodDeckS'ON is a growing Winnipeg carpentry company working inside and out. Outdoors we build custom decks, fences, gates and pergolas; indoors we do framing, drywall, finish carpentry and custom built-ins. Every project is built to the client's wishes, not from a template. We work on residential and commercial projects across Winnipeg and surrounding areas, and we're expanding our team.

What you'll do

- Build decks, fences, gates, pergolas and other exterior projects

- Interior framing, drywall and finish carpentry

- Install custom built-ins, cabinetry and feature walls

- Measure, cut and assemble materials accurately

- Work with the crew or independently to finish projects on schedule

- Spot and fix deficiencies before they become problems

- Keep tools, equipment and materials organized on and off site

- Follow secure work practices on every job site

What we're looking for

- 1+ year of carpentry or construction experience (residential or commercial)

- Experience with deck framing, fences, pergolas or finish carpentry is a strong asset

- Confident with power tools, hand tools and protected work practices

- Detail-oriented and accurate with a tape measure and level

- Coachable and eager to improve your craftsmanship

- Punctual, professional, with good communication skills

- Able to work independently and as part of a team





- Russian or Ukrainian is an asset, as part of our crew works in these languages

Requirements

- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to job sites

- Own tools: drill, impact driver, tape measure, level (circular saw and mitre saw are an asset)

- Steel-toe boots and high-visibility vest

- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly and work on your feet all day, outdoors in all weather and indoors in winter

What we offer

- Full-time, year-round work: exterior projects in season, interior projects through the winter

- Official employment on payroll with WCB coverage

- Work under the guidance of an experienced master carpenter

- Custom projects, not production-line work

- Pay based on skills, with room to grow as you take on more complex work

Pay: $22.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
