We’re looking for a reliable, friendly team member to support day-to-day operations across the kitchen and the dining room. You’ll prep food, serve guests, keep the restaurant clean, and help create a warm, welcoming experience for families and regulars.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen

- Wash, chop, and prepare ingredients following recipes and portion guidelines
- Assist cooks with basic cooking, plating, and garnishing
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards (storage, labeling, temperature control)
- Receive and store deliveries, and rotate stock (first in, first out)
- Report low inventory or equipment issues to the supervisor

Customer Service and Serving

- Greet guests warmly and seat them
- Take orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen
- Serve food and drinks promptly and explicit tables
- Answer menu questions, including common allergens and ingredients
- Handle payments, billing, and basic cash or POS duties
- Respond politely to feedback and escalate complaints to a manager

Cleaning and Maintenance

- Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, counters, and food prep areas
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Sweep, mop, and take out trash and recycling
- Keep restrooms and dining areas tidy during service
- Complete opening and closing checklists

General

- Support teammates and cover other stations during busy periods
- Follow all health, safety, and workplace policies




- Attend team briefings and training sessions

Requirements

Essential

- Minimum age of 18 (or as required by local law)
- Legal right to work in Canada
- Ability to work adaptable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 kg (about 45 lbs)
- Good communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Preferred (not required)

- Previous experience in a restaurant, café, or food service setting
- Food Safe certification (e.g., FOODSAFE in BC) or willingness to obtain it
- Basic cooking skills
- Ability to speak more than one language

- Patience and courtesy with guests of all ages, including children

Working Conditions

- Quick-paced environment with heat, noise, and busy peak hours
- Standing, walking, bending, and carrying for most of the shift
- Uniform or apron provided; non-slip closed-toe shoes required
