Pair It with Speech is a private practice providing individualized communication and developmental services to children, adolescents, and adults. We are expanding our interdisciplinary services and are looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our growing team.
This position is an opportunity to help establish and develop occupational therapy services within our practice while working collaboratively with our existing Speech-Language Pathology team.
About the Position
The Occupational Therapist will provide individualized assessment and intervention based on each client's needs, strengths, and goals.
Responsibilities may include:
Conducting occupational therapy assessments and identifying functional goals
Developing individualized treatment plans
Providing therapy related to fine and gross motor skills, sensory regulation, self-care, executive functioning, daily living skills, and functional participation
Adapting therapy activities to each client's age, interests, abilities, and goals
Communicating with parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals
Collaborating with Speech-Language Pathologists when clients would benefit from an interdisciplinary approach
Participating in co-treatment sessions where clinically appropriate
Providing families with practical strategies and recommendations for use at home and in other everyday environments
Completing clinical documentation, including assessment reports,
treatment notes, and progress reports
Participating in team meetings and clinical case discussions
Qualifications
Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
Experience working with children is an asset
Experience with adolescents and/or adults is also welcome
Knowledge of sensory regulation, motor development, executive functioning, self-care, or activities of daily living is an asset
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative clinical team
Commitment to client-centred and evidence-informed practice
