Job Description
The Law Clerk will be responsible for:
- Administration of accident benefits claims
- Preparation of LAT applications
- Communication with clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel
- Satisfying production requests and undertakings
- Preparing Affidavits of Documents
- Filing Trial Records
- Scheduling Motions
- Preparing notices and pleadings in Superior Court
- Corresponding with insurers and other law firms
- Calendar Management - booking the following: discoveries, mediations, meetings with clients, requisitioning medical assessments
- File management
- Drafting and preparing correspondence
- Drafting and preparing motion records
- Meeting and communicating with clients
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Completion of accredited legal assistant and or law clerk program required
- 2-5 years of experience in personal injury
- Fluent in Punjabi/Hindi an asset
- Experience in dealing with Tort matters (plaintiff personal injury or insurance defense experience)
- Advanced familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure and the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule
- Excellent organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to detail
- Confident and dependable, with solid initiative and the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Demonstrated advanced writing skills to prepare legal correspondence and complete forms
- Ability to exercise good judgment when dealing with clients
- Familiarity with Primafact
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
