About Us:

Good Heels Dog Walking Services is a small, female owned pet care business based out of Cochrane, Alberta. We provide both private and group dog walks as well as private dog training.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a reliable, animal loving individual to provide safe, consistent and reliable private dog walks for our clients while our current dog walker is on maternity leave.

This will be a 6 month contract position from March 15 2027 - September 15 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

-Driving to clients' homes to provide dog walking services (Cochrane / Bearspaw).

-Provide safe private dog walks ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour.

-Ensure fresh water, feeding & clean up protocols are fulfilled as per client instructions.

-Provide your own poop bags and clean up dog waste as needed.

-Keep dogs leashed (unless otherwise given off-leash consent and in a designated off-leash area) and maintain public safety.

-Send text or email updates/photos to clients after their dog’s walk.

-Maintain a professional, friendly relationship with dog walking clients.

Qualifications:

-We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience in walking dogs of a variety of sizes, breeds and temperaments.

-Must have knowledge of canine body language.

-Force-free, positive reinforcement methods of training only.

-The ideal applicant is responsible, trustworthy and comfortable working independently.

- Must be comfortable and fit to walk up to 6 hours a day.





- You have strong communication and time management skills.

-Applicants who have experience and confidence walking reactive dogs will be given top consideration.

-Experience walking puppies is an asset as well.

- Must be pet first aid certified or willing to complete the Walks ‘N’ Wags Pet First Aid Course prior to starting the position.

-Must hold an Alberta drivers license, automobile insurance and drive a reliable vehicle. Must provide proof of a clean driving record and clean criminal record check.

-You must have your own cell phone to communicate with both myself and clients.

-Must provide your own dog walking equipment (leashes when not provided by client, dog treats, poop bags, water bottle for dog, pet first aid kit).

-You must have proven experience caring for and walking dogs. Please provide 2 references (at least one work experience).

-Must have a versatile schedule with room to accommodate the majority of our clients.

Certifications:

-Dog Walking course certificate is an asset.

-Dog training course certifications are an asset.

-Pet First Aid Certification (current).

-Pet care association memberships (APDT, CCPDT, Pet Care Pro Canada etc.) are an asset.
