We specialize in municipal road construction, underground utilities and civil infrastructure, with projects including road upgrades, social and affordable housing developments, schools and other public-sector facilities.

As senior members of our team transition toward retirement, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lead Civil Construction Estimator to become a key part of our company's future.

We are seeking a knowledgeable, motivated professional who can independently manage the estimating and tendering process, bring valuable industry relationships and contribute to our continued growth.

Extensive experience in municipal roadworks and a strong working knowledge of MMCD are essential.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the preparation, review and submission of competitive estimates and tenders for municipal roadworks, underground utilities and civil infrastructure projects.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications and tender documents to determine project scope, quantities and requirements.
- Apply MMCD (Master Municipal Construction Documents) standards, specifications, measurement and payment provisions, and municipal supplementary requirements.
- Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for excavation, road construction, underground servicing, asphalt paving, concrete works and related infrastructure.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, negotiate pricing and develop competitive bids.
- Identify project risks, construction challenges, cost-saving opportunities and alternative methods.
- Monitor tender addenda and ensure accurate, complete and timely bid submissions.




- Collaborate with management and field operations to establish realistic project costs and construction methodologies.
- Identify new tender opportunities and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, subcontractors and industry contacts.

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

- Minimum 5 years of civil construction estimating experience, preferably with a strong focus on municipal road construction and underground utilities.
- Thorough working knowledge of MMCD is mandatory.
- Proven ability to independently prepare and manage complete civil construction estimates and tender submissions.
- Strong understanding of municipal roadworks, underground servicing, earthworks, asphalt paving, concrete flatworks and related construction operations.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and contract documents.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Considered Assets:

- Established knowledge of Lower Mainland municipal construction practices, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Experience with municipal and public-sector tendering processes.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.





Relevant hands-on construction experience will be valued alongside formal education.
