Our Ideal Candidate

- Has knowledge of mechanics, electrical systems or refrigeration.
- Is thorough and observant, with the ability to identify defects and perform reliable inspections.
- Has good manual skills and is comfortable using tools to carry out minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and strong organizational skills.
- Works effectively independently while collaborating well with the team.
- Is comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all seasons and various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
- Has a positive attitude, is versatile, and can manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Is able to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Perform pre-trip inspections (PTIs) on refrigerated containers in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements,



and manufacturer specifications.
- Prepare refrigerated units for service and shipment by ensuring they meet operational and safety standards.
- Test refrigeration systems to verify proper operation, temperature control, alarms, and electrical components.
- Conduct visual, operational, and mechanical inspections of refrigeration units to identify defects, malfunctions, or irregularities.
- Report equipment deficiencies requiring additional repairs or specialized maintenance.
- Complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on refrigeration units within established procedures and report equipment requiring corrective maintenance to the Reefer Technician.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, technicians, and other maintenance staff regarding equipment status.

QUALIFICATIONS

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with refrigeration units, transport refrigeration equipment, or heavy equipment maintenance is considered an asset.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and perform minor repairs.
- Ability to read inspection procedures and complete electronic work orders.
- Ability to use computers and yard management systems.
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
