Overview

The Assistant Front of House Manager supports the daily operation of the restaurant, helping deliver welcoming, effective service while maintaining high standards for food quality, safety, and hospitality. This hands-on role works closely with front- and back-of-house teams to coordinate service, support staff, and resolve guest concerns. The position may include evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Duties

- Assist with opening, closing, and daily service operations.
- Welcome guests, support reservations and seating, and help resolve customer concerns professionally.
- Coordinate front-of-house service with the kitchen to keep orders accurate and timely.
- Support serving, bartending, and other service duties as needed.
- Help oversee food preparation and cooking practices, ensuring food is handled and stored safely.
- Monitor cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety procedures throughout the restaurant.
- Operate the POS system, including Micros POS where applicable, and support accurate order entry and cash handling.
- Help train, guide, and supervise team members; promote clear communication and a collaborative work environment.
- Assist with staff scheduling,



shift assignments, interviewing, and onboarding as directed.
- Track supplies and communicate operational needs to restaurant management.
- Model attentive customer service, sound judgment, and strong leadership during busy service periods.

Skills

- Customer service, hospitality, and restaurant experience.
- Food service experience and familiarity with the food industry.
- Supervising experience, team management, and leadership skills.
- Food handling and food safety knowledge.
- Familiarity with POS systems; Micros POS experience is an asset.
- Cash handling and attention to detail.
- Serving and bartending experience are beneficial.
- Food preparation, cooking, and kitchen experience are beneficial.
- Interviewing or onboarding experience is an asset.
- Hotel experience or barista experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 – 45.0 per week
